About Training Camp for Life
As part of Training Camp for Life, professionals from a variety of industries will speak to students about personal finance,
strategies for avoiding drug and gang involvement, and how to become a valuable community member. The camp focuses on
teaching students the importance of education, helping students build strong values, and showing students how they can
contribute to their community.
“Training Camp for Life is an important program that encourages students to expand their education beyond what is taught
in the classroom,” NFLPA Executive Director DeMaurice Smith said. “We are thrilled to offer this event all over the country
because it gives us the opportunity to reach out to some of our biggest fans and instill in them valuable life lessons that will
help them succeed throughout their lives.”
The NFLPA and Learn It Cares, the non-profit affiliate of Learn It Systems, chose Oakland as the site for the first leg of the
six-city tour that will take place across the country. In addition to Oakland, camps will occur in the following cities: Baltimore,
Washington D.C., Nashville, Dallas/Ft. Worth, and Miami.
“At Learn It Cares we provide students with unique and engaging activities that will help them succeed in life,” said Michael
Maloney, President of Learn It Cares. “The Training Camp for Life is a great way to provide students with an opportunity to
become valuable members of their community. We are thrilled to be a part of the camp.”
Training Camp for Life will also recognize the exceptional efforts of select students, parents and teachers each month. Prizes
from the NFLPA will be awarded to those selected for their efforts in contributing to the community and showing students
the value of education. |
